Girl in Canary Island dress
Welcome to my world on Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
This photo was taken June 2007 during one of the yearly fiestas, the Romeria de San Isidro Labrador, patron saint of agricultors, held in La Orotava, Tenerife.
In her basket the young woman carries small slices of baguette, spread with chorizo meat paste as well as hard cooked eggs. These fiestas will be starting again soon this month.

I was just watching a show about Canary Island on PBS over the weekend. You live in paradise.
Wonderful shots of a very interesting place.
How interesting - I know nothing much about life on the canary isles but look forward to learning more. Thanks for sharing your world.
Such warm photos! The colors are just fabulous! Thanks for sharing!
I love these kinds of photos and posts. I learn so much.
I'd like that just without the meat.
The photos are lovely and the contents of the basket sound just as delicious. How wonderful to be in a place in which you can join in fiestas!
Very interesting! I would love to be able to visit there one day.
I am learning so many things about the world through this meme.
Love the picture and the bread is mouthwatering
Brilliant post. Thanks for sharing your world with us.
Very picturesque! Sounds like a great breakfast!
I love to see people dressed in their national costumes for festive occasions. Nice post as is the one below.
I have only been to the Canary Island once when I was a young teen who could care less about where I was. How I'd love to return again as an adult who would appreciate all this beauty. I love her dress and I especially love learning about different traditions and festivals. Thanks for sharing.
Love the colorful dress and the food looks yummy. Enjoy the festival.
Oh how cool! I love Spain. My parents had a house on the Costa del Sol years ago and it was a wonderful place to visit.
