Which is what we're doing here today.
Here's the storm yesterday heading towards us from the west. That's Tenerife circled in red.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are also passing over the islands, although they haven't arrived in our area yet.
We've had pots turned over, debris and leaves collecting and large palm leaves blown down. They can be dangerous in winds such as these as the ends of the branches terminate in heavy wood which can knock one a dangerous blow on the head as they fall from the tree.

Some more photos from our garden taken during the storm:
Here are a couple of little videos I made during a less violent moment this morning:
Well I hope I can show you some better weather next time.
That will be after we've cleared away the mess in our garden.
Thanks for dropping by, and do come again soon. Until then...
¡Hasta la Vista !

Oh my goodness! Hope the wind has stopped!! I about died laughing when I heard the kitty meow! Thanks for sharing!
I am glad you are okay! Sad to see, but your beautiful garden will recover for you to enjoy again.
Oh my it is certainly tossing things around in your garden. I hope it does no real harm as it passes on by. You are going to have a lot of cleaning up to do.I would be staying in the house too.
That looks a bit scary, Sharon.
I hope the winds have died down and life in Tenerife is getting back to normal. Ten cuidado.
Thank you all for your comments.
Yes it's now the day after and things have calmed down to pretty well normal in our area, with some rain but the storm and wind is over. However there is another smaller storm arriving next Sunday. But by then we will have things back in order.
The garden didn't suffer any permanent damage and as everything grows here so quickly, it will be over and forgotten in a couple of weeks.
I feel sorry though for the farmers and the growers who had their crops and greenhouses torn to shreds. Also the people with animals and chickens who had the roofs and walls of their corrals blown away and no way to shelter their livestock.
The last major storm of this kind was hurricane Delta which hit us five years ago.
Cheers...Sharon
I'm glad that the damage to your garden was minor and you two are ok. I hope the damage to local farmers is not too bad.
That's one very dramatic-looking storm. The cat was hilarious, though. :)
